Hi, I am Nico
I have been fascinated by the possibilities of photography since my childhood. I grew up in the beautiful northwest of Switzerland. I graduated from Basel University with a master in Biology and later got the diploma as a high-school teacher. Nowadays, I am spending most of my free time travelling and photographing. Recent trips brought me to Iceland and Norway but I have visited more than 40 countries on all six continents.
My fascination for photography grew with my passion for travelling and since my first trip to Australia in 1998 the two are hopelessly intermingled. While eighteen years ago I snapped the Sydney Opera with a Minolta miniature film-camera borrowed from a friend I soon upgraded to a bigger model. Since 2005 when I set out for a two years round the world trip I am using a digital SLR.
